What's for sale?
This is a signed, double-stranded necklace of round, white metal beads. It was made by Trifari, a well known and collectable, American costume jewellery maker of the 20th century.
It's a classy looking, heavy necklace of comprising over 140 beads on two strands, one slightly shorter than the other. At 66cm (26 inches), it's known as a matinee necklace.
The Crown Trifari signature on the clasp dates the necklace between the 1940s and late 1950s. A copyright symbol was added around 1955, but is not present here.
What condition is it in?
- Second-hand
- In good condition
- There's age-related tarnishing on some of the beads near the clasp
What are the measurements?
- The longest strand is 66cm long (26 inches)
- This gives a drop of around 15cm from the base of the neck (6 inches)
- 153 grams
The mannequin dress form in the pictures is around size 10-12.
