A signed, opalescent glass bead necklace by the collectable costume jewellery maker. Second-hand.
What's for sale?
This is a signed necklace made with glass and metal beads by Pauline Rader, a less well-known but collectable costume jewellery maker who worked between the 1960s and 1980s.
The necklace has an ancient Greek or Roman look to it, and this is typical of the influences found in of Pauline Rader's work.
The small white beads have a milky, opalescent sheen and this contrasts well with the rich, dark purple of the larger, bicone beads and their smaller gold-coloured partners.
The necklace is secured with a threaded barrel clasp and can be worn as an opera length, single strand necklace or doubled up for a choker-length, twin strand necklace.
The metal tag near the clasp reads “© PAULINE RADER”.
