This is a 6 ounce, stoneware pot for retailing curry paste, from mid 20th century Britain.
It was made for A A Sharwood & Co Ltd of Stockwell in London. The green print on the front carries the "green label" branding with the size, and then lists the ingredients and company address. Although the London postal regions were introduced in the mid 1800s, the further numeric breakdown to "SW9" dates the jar after 1917.
Pots and jars like this were widely used, mass-produced and roughly made, so many will have faults of some kind. The top was probably waxed-paper, wrapped and fastened around the neck.
What condition is it in?
