Erven Lucas Bols Salt Glazed Gin Bottles

What's for sale?

This is a collection of three salt-glazed gin bottles made for the Dutch company Erven Lucas Bols. It comprises two 1 litre bottles and one 1/2 litre bottle.

The bottles are impressed:

• Erven Lucas Bols
• Het Lootsje
• Amsterdam

"Het Lootsje" (little shed) refers to the first Bols distillery on Rozengracht in Amsterdam.

What condition are they in?

• Second-hand
• In fair condition
• Bottles like these were crudely made and probably weren't intended to survive for very long
• There are imperfections, pitting and scrapes all over
• There's a pin head hole in the side of the smaller bottle, at about a third of its height and showing as a dark spot on our photographs

What are the measurements?

Large bottles:

• 30cm high
• 8.5cm diameter
• 1158 grams & 1244 grams

Small bottle:

• 24cm high
• 7cm diameter
• 700 grams
