This is a large, brightly coloured, hand made vase from 1970s West Germany. It was made by the long-established Scheurich Keramik during the latter part of what has become a very collectable period for West German pottery, which was generally from the 1950s to the 1970s.
It's a tall vase at 28cm and has a slender, straight-sided body and a high-gloss finish inside and out in yellow. It has been decorated by hand with a random, daubed pattern representing leaves or flowers in pale yellow.
Who made it?
It is unsigned, but the embossed markings on the base are those of the German maker Scheurich Keramik. They read:
