This is an American, silver-plated cocktail shaker from the early 20th century. It's a nice-looking design with a hand beaten, tapered body, an angled spout and Art Nouveau handles.
The spout has an internal strainer and the original stopper with cork and embossed flower decoration. The lid has it's original stopper and a striking, decorative handle.
It holds 1.75 pints, which is about 1 litre.
On the base is stamped W.M. Mounts, meaning White Metal Mounts and referring to its construction. 1903 may refer to the year of manufacture (which would fit) or the design number.
Derby Silver Company designs can be found in a variety of museum collections, including the Brooklyn Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
Who made it?
It was made by the Derby Silver Company & International Silver Company, which was based in Derby, Shelton, Connecticut, USA. The underneath is stamped:
