A glamorous, vintage silver plated, cocktail shaker from 1920s or 1930s England, complete with spout and original fittings. Second-hand.
A Gladwin 1930s silver-plated cocktail shaker for sale.
This is a silver plated cocktail shaker with tapered body and short spout. Both the lid and spout have their original cork and both are still in reasonable condition with a good fit. The chain that attaches the bung to the main body is intact and also looks to be original. They often go missing.
The spout has an internal strainer, while the the lid incorporates a mean-looking fruit reamer.
Gladwin produced their silver plate in two finishes, Ambassador and Embassy. Embassy was the thinner plating, so the condition of this shaker suggests it hasn't been subjected to a lot of use: the silver plate is still in pretty good condition.
