What's for sale?
This is a sweet, Sterling silver, oval pendant, depicting a seated teddy bear in blue enamel. It was made by the well-known Norwegian jeweller and silversmith, David Andersen.
The pendant and fine linked chain are made from Sterling silver. The background design of the pendant is a basse-taille pattern of fine lines in two shades of blue. At the centre is a champlevé outline of a small teddy bear, filled with a darker, royal blue enamel.
Basse-taille means low cut and describes the technique of engraving a pattern and covering it with enamel, such that the engraving is still visible beneath.
