An Art Deco, bone china trio of teacup, saucer and plate by Royal Grafton. Second-hand.
What's for sale?
This is an Art Deco, bone china trio of teacup, saucer and plate by Royal Grafton.
The three pieces have been decorated with a bright design of woven raffia, in shades of yellow. The design is echoed around the inside rim of the teacup and all three have gold-coloured highlights.
The Art Deco style is visible in the squared-off plate and the teacup's angled handle and faceted rim.
Who made it and when?
Royal Grafton China was founded in Staffordshire by Alfred Bailey Jones. The maker's mark dates it between 1935 and 1949 and reads:
- A.B.J.
- grafton china

We like using non-matching trios in a tea set. They show off several styles at once and you can always change them if one gets damaged or you see something else you prefer.
