What's for sale?
This is a small, handmade, earthenware olive dish by British potter Val Sparkes. It takes its shape from traditional British coastal fishing boats and has identification code 'PO19' on both sides. The letters 'PO' is the registration code for Portsmouth on the south coast of England.
The appearance is of an older boat from many years ago, and it's coloured with a nice blend of red, cream and pale green. These are really nice items, hand-built and hand-painted.
These boats are from her 'All at Sea' range which also contained her shipping forecast designs. While her early designs mainly featured animals and the countryside, her later pieces tended to feature the sea.
