What's for sale?
This is a handmade, earthenware cylinder vase by the British pottery studio Quantock Design.
It's attractively decorated with an impressed, radiating pattern of circles, broken by an inner ring of small arrows. Like much of Quantock designs, it has a natural, organic look and is a little reminiscent of a dandelion.
The exterior is also very tactile, natural and unfinished. As it's a vase though, the inside has a smooth and shiny, deep brown glaze.
Quantock Pottery was originally based in West Bagborough, Somerset, in the South West of England. Pieces from this period are stamped "Quantock Design", as this is. So this piece could have been made at any time between the 1970s and 1990s. Later on, production moved to Wellington in Somerset and these are marked "Quantock Pottery".
