Napier Three Bar Gate Necklace

What's for sale?

This is a signed, three bar gate necklace made by Napier in a highly-polished, gold tone metal. It's an elegant, choker necklace which catches the light beautifully.

Each panel is made up of three bars, with the central one offset to link with the next panel. This construction helps it sit flat when worn. The clasp takes the place of one of the centre links and folds over to lock.

The clasp is signed "Napier", the American costume jewellery maker which operated throughout the 20th century. The style of the signature dates this necklace between the 1960s and 1980s. 

What condition is it in?

• Second-hand
• In very good condition
• There is some faint wear in a few places, visible on close-up examination

What are the measurements?

• 40.5cm (16 inch) in length
• 1 cm wide
• 37 grams

The mannequin dress form in the pictures is around size 10-12.
