Green Vaseline Glass Jug with Foot

What's for sale?

This is a large green jug with a thick, round foot and an elegant, classical shape. It was made from Vaseline glass, also known as uranium glass. 

Uranium glass is so called because of the miniscule inclusion of Uranium Dioxide during manufacture. It's harmless and no more radioactive that than most other things in our homes; the glow under UV light is a chemical reaction.

This collectable type of glass fell out of general production during the 1950s, so this was probably made earlier. Its fluorescence has been tested under UV light, as shown.
