What's for sale?
This is an attractive bracelet of black enamel and gold-plated Sterling silver, made by Norwegian jeweller David Andersen. Vermeil is the name given to plating silver with gold.
It's made of nine gold-plated, Sterling silver panels, joined by pairs of silver links and fastened with a push-pull tongue clasp.
The panels are finished in a high-gloss, black enamel. Each of the smaller panels has a single champlevé flower in white, with a black centre.
Champlevé (raised field) is the technique of hollowing out bordered sections, filling them with enamel and polishing, such that a uniform height is achieved.
Who made it and when?
It was made by the Norwegian jewellery manufacturer David-Andersen. The maker's mark has been used since the 1920s and reads:
