What's for sale?
This is a small, signed brooch in a radiating design of a bright blue and silver-coloured flower. It was made by Coro, the well-known American costume jewellery maker.
There are eight square, blue rhinestones, surrounding eight small, clear diamantes, surrounding a larger, round blue rhinestone at the centre. There body is a silver-coloured, metal alloy. It is secured by a pin with rollover clasp.
It is small but very pretty and catches the light well. The contrast of the two colours is very effective.
Who made it and when?
On the back, in script, it is engraved:
Coro Inc. made costume jewellery using variations of the name Coro from 1942 until the company's end during the 1990s. The style of the signature on this piece and the absence of any copyright symbol suggests that this is from the 1940s to early 1950s.
